Taylor McGuirk Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Perryville Panthers Take The Win Over Tome Titans

Taylor McGuirk collected four hits in four at bats, as Perryville defeated the Tome Titans 13-2 on Thursday. McGuirk singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Perryville got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after McGuirk singled down the right field line, Emma Bowman singled to the right side of the infield, Abby Griffey singled to center field, Julianna Reffitt walked, and Taegan Spier singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Perryville added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Tome committed an two error2, and Jacqueline Saponero stole home, each scoring one run.

Spier earned the win for Perryville. The hurler allowed seven hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking four. Keely Nunley took the loss for Tome. The starter went four and one-third innings, surrendering 13 runs (four earned) on 13 hits, striking out five and walking three.

Perryville collected 13 hits in the game. Natalie Jasper, Bowman, and Spier each drove in two runs for the Panthers. Emma Cavall stole two bases. Perryville ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game.

Brooke Widdoes drove the middle of the lineup, leading Tome with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-3 on the day. Amiyah Moretz collected two hits for Tome in three at bats.
