ELKTON, MD (May 1, 2025) – Cecil County Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Hampton to the Board of Education by Governor Wes Moore. Mr. Hampton will represent Cecil County’s Fourth Electoral District, including Port Deposit and Perryville, for the remainder of the term and until a successor is elected and qualifies in 2026.
Mr. Hampton, a chemical engineer for the US Army, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the role. He is married and has two children: one is a freshman at Towson University, and the other is a sophomore at Perryville High School.
Mr. Hampton is also a veteran of the US Marine Corps, demonstrating his commitment to service both in and out of uniform. His extensive involvement in the community includes being a CCPS parent, CAC member, Capstone mentor for CCST, and a regular attendee at Board meetings.
Board of Education President Diana Hawley recognized Mr. Hampton to the Board, saying, “We welcome Brian to the Board of Education. His longtime, positive involvement shows his strong commitment to our schools and students. This ongoing engagement and familiarity with Board operations will help as he steps into the work ahead.”
