The Foundation’s Inaugural “Celebration of Giving” Draws Community Support

PERRYVILLE, MD — The historic Principio Mansion served as a glittering backdrop this past week for the inaugural “Celebration of Giving,” a premier event hosted by The Foundation of Cecil County Public Schools (CCPS). The evening brought together community members, business leaders, and Foundation supporters to celebrate recent achievements and rally for the future of local education.

Attendees were treated to an inside look at The Foundation’s impactful work, with organizers highlighting exciting progress on initiatives to enhance educational opportunities for students across Cecil County. The event was designed not only as a fundraiser but as a vital point of connection between The Foundation and the community it serves.

Dr. Jeffrey Lawson stated, “The energy in the room was a true testament to the value our county places on students.”

The celebration culminated in a powerful display of community values. The Foundation expressed deep gratitude for every contribution to students. The event’s success was significantly bolstered by several major sponsors, whose commitments were formally acknowledged.

“It was a fantastic opportunity to share our progress and connect with so many wonderful community members,” said Jen Shaw, Coordinator of The Foundation.

“A massive thank you to our incredible major sponsors for their commitment,” the Foundation stated, naming APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU), ODEC Wildcat Point, and York Building Products as cornerstone partners of the event.

The gathering underscored a unified community drive to bolster educational resources. Proceeds from the Celebration of Giving will directly support The Foundation’s mission to fund innovative programs, classroom grants, and critical student needs beyond the standard school budget.

“Together, we are making a difference,” The Foundation’s president, Liz Monti, concluded, signaling a strong start for what is expected to become an annual tradition of philanthropy and community partnership in Cecil County.
