Lyla Wescoat (2027) collected three hits in four at bats, as Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles defeated North Harford Varsity Hawks 15-1 on Thursday. Wescoat (2027) hit a solo home run to center field in the fourth inning, doubled in the first inning, and doubled in the second inning.
Wescoat (2027) struck out 11 batters on the day. The right-handed pitcher also surrendered one hit and one run over five innings while walking one.
Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Wescoat (2027) doubled, scoring one run, Kylee Bergman (Salisbury) singled, scoring one run, and Camille Mattucci (2026) singled, scoring two runs.
Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after North Harford Varsity Hawks committed an error, Elizabeth Marcum (2027) singled to center field, Regan Yatsko (2028) grounded out, and Temperance Fitzimmons (2025) singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.
Four more Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 12-1. Gwen Ayers (’26) McDaniel homered to left field, scoring two runs, Yatsko (2028) singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles scored one run in the top of the fourth on a solo home run to center field by Wescoat (2027).
Alison Smithson took the loss for North Harford Varsity Hawks. The starter went five innings, allowing 15 runs (nine earned) on 14 hits, striking out one and walking six.
Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles tallied 14 hits in the game. Mattucci (2026) and Wescoat (2027) each collected three hits for Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles. Fitzimmons (2025), Bergman (Salisbury), Wescoat (2027), Ayers (’26) McDaniel, and Yatsko (2028) each drove in two runs for Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles. Kailey McGuire (2028) collected two hits for Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles in four at bats. Ayers (’26) McDaniel led Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.
Brianna Billings went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles will travel to Caravel for their next game on Saturday.
