ABSOLUTELY UNHINGED (IN A GOOD WAY) LOCAL SPORTS COVERAGE I picked up Sports Weekly thinking, “Cool, a local paper.” Next thing I know, I’m standing in my kitchen reading it like I’m breaking down film for the NFL Draft, yelling, “THAT’S A BIG-TIME PERFORMANCE!” at a box score from a Tuesday night JV game. This newspaper doesn’t just cover local sports… it chronicles legends. If a kid in Cecil County Public Schools hits a clutch three, throws a no hitter, pins someone in 12 seconds, or runs a personal best, Sports Weekly is there like: 📸 CLICK 📝 AP-STYLE RECAP 🔥 HERO STATUS ACHIEVED And don’t even get me started on the student programs. They cover athletes and school communities in Cecil County and Harford County Public Schools like it’s the Olympics, the Super Bowl, and senior night all rolled into one glorious, ink-smelling masterpiece. You’ll find scores, highlights, and stories that make you proud you live here — even if you didn’t know what UCBAC stood for five minutes ago (it took me a long time, my son was constantly correcting me!). The best part? Sports Weekly has this magical ability to make you care about games you didn’t attend, teams you don’t follow, and sports you can’t fully explain. I read one article and suddenly I’m emotionally invested in a local basketball rivalry like it’s been in my family for generations. If you love: local athletes getting the spotlight they deserve schools and student programs being celebrated community pride in print form and a paper that treats “small town sports” like it’s a BIG DEAL (because it is) …then congratulations. You’ve found your newspaper. Sports Weekly isn’t just a publication. It’s basically a weekly Cecil + Harford County sports hall of fame ceremony that shows up in your hands for free. Not to mention the amazing quality of the photos taken by Sam and his team! Highly recommended. Would read again. Would frame an article about my kid’s 4x800 split time.
