Dylan Blankenship A Difficult Out As Tigers Defeat Eagles 13-5

Dylan Blankenship collected three hits in four at bats, as the Rising Sun Tigers defeated the Bohemia Manor Eagles 13-5 on Friday. Blankenship hit a home run to center field in the fourth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning.

Bohemia Manor opened the scoring in the first after Colton Leitgeb singled, scoring two runs.

Rising Sun jumped into the lead in the bottom of the second when Jaden Valentine doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Brody Vaughn singled down the right field line, which helped Bohemia Manor tie the game at three in the top of the third.

The Tigers jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third when an error scored one run, Wyatt McDowell doubled, scoring one run, and Valentine singled, scoring two runs.

The Tigers added six more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on four hits. Liam Cooper drew a walk, scoring one run, McDowell doubled, scoring one run, Blankenship homered to center field, scoring three runs, and Kyle Hyre doubled, scoring one run.

Walker Ayers started the game for the Tigers. The starter surrendered seven hits and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking two. #3 started the game for Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles. The hurler surrendered seven hits and 10 runs (four earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three. Blankenship, Hyre, and McDowell each came on in relief for Rising Sun and shutdown Bohemia Manor.

The Tigers accumulated 10 hits in the game. McDowell collected two hits for Rising Sun in four at bats.

Bohemia Manor accumulated nine hits in the game. Leitgeb, Vaughn, and Evan Wood each collected two hits for Bohemia Manor. Leitgeb led the Eagles with two runs batted in. Leitgeb went 2-for-3 on the day. Evan Wilson paced Bohemia Manor with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Wilson stole two bases. Bohemia Manor stole five bases in the game.

Rising Sun will travel to Bohemia Manor for their next game on Monday.
