Mason Hemelt collected three hits in three at bats, as the Patterson Mill Huskies defeated the visiting Bohemia Manor Eagles 13-3 on Wednesday. Hemelt singled in the fifth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
The Huskies scored 10 runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Noah Thomas drew a walk, scoring one run, Brycen Hunter singled, scoring two runs, James Richardson doubled, scoring two runs, Logan Scheeler singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Hemelt singled, scoring two runs.
Bohemia Manor got on the board in the top of the first inning after Luke Yates doubled to center field, and Chris Harris singled to right field, each scoring one run.
Bohemia Manor added one run in the third. Harris singled to center field, making the score 3-0.
Hunter earned the win for Patterson Mill. The starter allowed five hits and three runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking none. Harris took the loss for Bohemia Manor Varsity Eagles. The starting pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs on six hits, striking out two and walking three.
Patterson Mill accumulated 13 hits in the game. Hunter led the Huskies with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The pitcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Richardson and Jayden Stabile each collected multiple hits for Patterson Mill.
Harris drove the middle of the lineup, leading Bohemia Manor with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 3-for-3 on the day. Yates collected two hits for Bohemia Manor in three at bats. Yates stole two bases.
